Research and Information Gathering Internship

The American Friends of Beit Issie Shapiro invites you to join our team as an intern focusing on gathering information about new funding sources. American Friends of Beit Issie Shapiro, a 501(c)(3), develops and cultivates relationships with donors and foundations to support Beit Issie Shapiro, Israel’s leading innovator in disabilities and inclusion, impacting over half a million people annually in Israel and around the world. 

This position requires a commitment of 10 hours per week for one full academic year and offers the chance to play a crucial role in supporting our team while gaining valuable experience in the nonprofit sector and contributing to the advancement of an inclusive society. This position is for college credit and will be unpaid.

 

Research and Information Gathering Internship Summary:

The Intern will be mainly responsible for collecting data regarding foundations, creating short summaries and action plans for approaching new potential funders. They will occasionally assist with developing partnership opportunities with local schools, Jewish Community Centers, and Jewish Federations. 

Working closely with the National Development Coordinator, interns will have an opportunity to help develop local young leadership and assist in creating events and campaigns to raise awareness around disability and inclusion.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Gather and analyze information to help identify new potential funding opportunities. 
  • Conduct reviews of information, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Create clear and concise reports with actionable information.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Online research and data gathering tools. 
  • Previous experience in non-profits or relevant academic coursework.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and presentation skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Calm, friendly demeanor with a positive attitude.
  • Flexibility to work approximately 10 hours per week in a hybrid environment for one full academic year.
