Social Media Intern
DESCRIPTION:
- This position will assist the Social Media Manager in the day-to-day execution of social media across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, YouTube, and TikTok through writing, scheduling, strategizing, and creative ideas.
- A note: we are a Christian ministry where spiritual care and development are a priority!

FOR THIS POSITION:
- Promote FamilyLife’s blogs, podcasts, events, products, and app across social platforms.
- Engage with the online community and respond to comments and requests in a timely manner.
- Monitor comments on posts and engages with them. “Like” all positive, helpful comments and respond to those that merit a response.
- Schedule posts using Hootsuite and potentially other applications
- Work with the Social Media Manager to create mood boards that dictate the look and feel of our imagery for that time period
- Stay on top of social media trends and assist with ways to implement new ideas to FamilyLife’s social strategy
- Assist with creating engaging content and videos for all social media platforms
- Research trending topics, hashtags, and videos relating to the FamilyLife brand
- Facilitate and participate in online events to build community and boost brand awareness, events, or products
- Use effective communication methods to increase followers on social media accounts.
KNOWLEDGE OF:
- Operate Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, YouTube, and TikTok knowledge of other social media platforms
- Basic project management/fulfillment of deadlines
- Hootsuite and other social media management tools and applications
- Google Suite
- Basic video editing (Reels/TikTok)
- Adobe Suite or Canva
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Experience in social media marketing, influencer marketing, or communications
- Strong technical skills
- Ability to work remotely and excel with limited supervision
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Ability to adapt, be a team player, and a willingness to learn
