IT Intern, Application Development
CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Information Technology group. We are looking for an Information Technology Intern to help support a variety of projects that will range in scale and complexity within the SAP Application Development team. You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, self-motivated with confirmed leadership abilities, decisive leadership and presentation skills and be able to function in a team-oriented environment with resource and time constraints.
Ideal candidates will live in the St. Paul/Minneapolis, MN metro area in order to work a hybrid schedule (2-3 days per week in the corporate office, located in Inver Grove Heights, MN); may consider remote options for top talent. The CHS IT Internship Program is targeted for 5/13/2024 - 8/16/2024 (this timeframe can be somewhat flexible).
Responsibilities
- Learn and develop applications in SAP UI/UX technologies.
- Develop an understanding of the SAP development lifecycle/SDLC which includes requirement gathering, analysis, design, development, debug, unit test, documentation, and review.
- Adapt to Development standards, Agile methodologies, Scrum framework.
- Adhere to development deadlines as determined by senior team member/s.
- Learn and develop applications using SAP UI/UX technologies including CSS, HTML, Java Script etc.
- Learn and develop new capabilities using AWS SDK for SAP ABAP.
- Adapt to DevOps concepts/products/technologies.
- Work closely with Application Development teams and collaborate with the Security, Basis, and Integration teams to improve performance, and build scalable solutions.
- Attend Engineering/Application Development/UX conferences and trainings to learn new technologies and skills.
- Participate in webinars, trainings, workshops, or conferences to understand the newer capabilities in the Application development framework.
- Perform other work as assigned.
- Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Graduate degree program in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Management, or similar STEM degree program
Additional Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of any programming language
- Java, C++, C# etc.
- Object Oriented Design
- Brief understanding of core front end web technologies
- HTML
- CSS
- Java Script
- Basic knowledge of development tools
- Eclipse
- Understanding of Development Lifecycle, Agile and Scrum development methodologies
- Knowledge of SQL
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
