Leadership Development Program: Rotational Analyst

The Rotational Analyst Program is a full-time land-based program located in Carnival Cruise Line’s Miami; FL headquarters designed to provide selected candidates an in-depth experience across three areas of our business over the course of 18 months. Candidates will sharpen their analytical skills while gaining real world experience in the cruise line industry.  The goal of the program is to fast-track recent graduates into a successful career at Carnival Cruise Line with the knowledge and professional insight gained through this unique experience. After the 18 month program is complete, analysts transition into full-time opportunities based on the experiences gained over the 18 months.

The ideal candidate must demonstrate

  • Completion of a BA or BS degree from a fully accredited 4 year university
  • Excellent analytical and strategic planning/project management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong and clear communication skills both written and oral
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of a professional organization
  • Professional interest in Operations, Finance, Revenue, Analytics, Marketing, Communications, Strategy or Engineering
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Driven, polished, and collaborative and a team player attitude

18-month program made up of three 6-month rotations within, though not limited to, the following areas:

Examples of Rotations Offered:

Itinerary Planning Analyst

  • Help decide where to deploy one of the largest fleets in the cruise industry to maximize profitability.
  • Learn about more than 100 global travel destinations and where Carnival’s guests prefer to go
  • Develop strategies to attract 5 million guests in North America and international markets annually

 Revenue Management Analyst

  • Create models to set and manage cruise pricing based on supply and demand
  • Identify what is most important to consumers when buying cruises and create promotional offers to tap demand
  • Determine cancellation rates and build models to estimate available inventory at a moment in time

 CRM & Marketing Analyst

  • Collect, analyze, and summarize data, using a variety of analytics tools to derive compelling insights and highlights CRM performance
  • Use advanced analytical tools to determine which potential guests are eligible for targeted offers.
  • Design, implement, and track programs to attract specific guests to purchase tickets and improve onboard revenue performance

 Finance Analyst

  • Assist in the creation of financial models for Carnival’s next generation ships and multi-million dollar vessel refurbishments
  • Create dynamic analytical tools that measure Carnival’s ROI for innovative programs
  • Partner with senior management on the bottoms-up development of Carnival’s annual budget

 Hotel Operations Analyst

  • Design and track an incentive program for sales employees onboard Carnival vessels
  • Redesign more dynamic crew utilization processes to drive personnel savings
  • Leverage new smartphone technologies to tailor onboard offers to Carnival guests.

Marine Operations Analyst

  • Work collaboratively with R&D and implementation engineers to develop and review business cases for energy efficiency investments across the fleet.
  • Design and build Marine Operations operational performance dashboard including Key Performance Indicators such as financial/budget performance, safety and environmental incidents, and fuel consumption.
  • Assist team to design and implement more clearly defined budget ownership structure for Carnival’s multi-million-dollar annual fleet repair and maintenance spend.

 Strategic Sourcing Analyst

  • Work closely with the Global Sourcing Leadership Team to identify business opportunities, define and clarify a problem statement, optimize supply chain and logistics, and develop an analysis plan.
  • Gather, organize, reconcile, and clean-up large data sets to conduct relevant analyses including cost-benefit analyses, buy vs. lease, ship vs. buy-local, “what if” analysis, custom spend reports.
  • Support bids across multiple categories and cruise brands, interact with brands’ stakeholders to build analytical models to evaluate results and make award decisions.

The range for this role’s base salary is $70,000 - $75,000.  Offers to select candidates will be made on a fair and equitable basis, taking into account specific job-related skills and experience.

    • Sick Time – All full-time employees receive 80 hours of sick time each year.  Part-time with benefits employees receive time off based on the number of hours they work, with a minimum of 60 hours each year.
