Company Overview: At SteelHomes Modular™ we manufacture high-tech LGS (Light Gauge Steel) structures for the construction of prefabricated building systems, steel trusses, luxury homes, modular residential or commercial construction.  As we continue to innovate and expand, we're excited to invite enthusiastic students majoring in construction, engineering, architecture, or related fields to join us as interns. This is a unique chance to contribute to our architectural drafting and organization efforts.

Position: Architectural Drafting Intern

Location: 4300 NW 128th ST Opa-Locka, FL 33054 

Duration: Fall 2023, Spring 2024

Stipend: A $1500 - $2000 stipend will be provided at the conclusion of the internship.

About the Role: As an Architectural Drafting Intern at SteelHomes Modular, you'll immerse yourself in the world of innovative construction design. We are specifically seeking candidates who have advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, and you will have the chance to apply your skills to real-world projects. Collaborating with our architectural team, you'll ensure accurate, detailed, and meticulously organized technical drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the architectural team in creating detailed CAD drawings using AutoCAD software.
• Collaborate with architects and engineers to translate design concepts into accurate technical drawings.
• Participate in the organization and maintenance of architectural project files and documentation.
• Contribute to the creation and updating of architectural standards and templates.
• Perform quality checks on drawings to ensure accuracy and adherence to specifications.
• Assist in the coordination of architectural designs with other departments.
• Attend team meetings to gain insights into project requirements and design discussions.
• Provide support in various architectural tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

• Current enrollment in a construction, engineering, or architectural program.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is a must; experience in other drafting software is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and a precise approach to drafting and organization.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and software tools.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Enthusiasm for sustainable construction and innovative design practices.
• A portfolio showcasing previous drafting work is preferred.
• Language Requirement: Proficiency in both English and Spanish is required.
