Job Summary:
Supports the marketing and social media efforts for the Division of Human Resources (DHR), specifically in the areas of print publications production, website content support and social media outreach.
  • Collaborates with Division's units to identify, create and implement creative communication solutions. Leads the implementation of the creative communication solutions. Plans and executes multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Updates and creates electronic documents and marketing collaterals designed to enhance the employee experience at FIU. This includes guidelines, manuals, proposals, event collaterals, videos and infographics. Writes and edits content for newsletters, outgoing communications, nominations, brochures and other mediums.
  • Maintains frequent contact with HR staff as well as the greater university. Maintains flexibility and sensitivity to establish and maintain necessary rapport with all levels of personnel and external constituencies.
  • Supports institutional, college and/or departmental events and provide support in executing event protocol. Drafts speeches and other content as required.
  • Sets goals and objectives for social media platforms. Establishes effective benchmarks for gauging impact and measures/reports on the performance metrics of digital campaigns. Monitors trends in social media and digital communications, such as new algorithms, features, software and platforms.
  • Directs daily activities for execution of all content creation, print and digital materials. May supervise a student assistant, news releases and electronic mail.
  • Performs essential duties in any emergencies such as hurricanes, public health emergencies, and/or any other university emergency closing. The employee is expected to be available to report to work as needed during university emergency closing with appropriate notification of a department administrator.
  • May process cash payment(s).
  • Assists the director of HR relations and FIU Retiree Association in securing and coordinating content for internal and external nominations, recognition program submissions, conference presentations, etc.
  • Assist with the development of door prize solicitation letters, outreach, and in-kind donations/services or gift certificates to enhanced HR Relations events.
  • Assists with the design and development of weekly e-newsletters and monthly retiree newsletters. Keeps track of content submission for appropriate newsletter inclusion and distribution.
  • Supports and contributes to the design and execution of DHR and appropriate university community events to engage faculty, staff and retirees in accordance with safety and university protocols.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Media/Public Relations, Communications or related field and one (1) year of experience.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with multimedia marketing and event planning experience to build employer brand recognition.
  • Professional training and experience in journalism, communications and/or public relations, with excellent news and feature writing and editing abilities.
