SLP for School-Based (Part-Time)

This position will provide SLP services in South King County Seattle.
 
As a part-timeSpeech and Language Therapist, you will be a valued member of our assessment and treatment multidisciplinary team. We are hiring a full time SLP who uses evidence based practices and data driven interventions to meet the varied needs of students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) at our TK-12 schools or students receiving MTSS support. Our SLP is encouraged to be creative and to collaborate with teachers and school staff around the delivery of an enriched language program to all students, and are accountable for taking into consideration cultural and linguistic differences of diverse students. The SLP will provide in-person services with flexibility for virtual at home work for documentation days. This position follows a traditional school schedule with time off during school breaks, and additional Paid-Time-Off days to use throughout the school year.

Responsibilities

  • Provide speech and language services (language, fluency, articulation and pragmatics) to identified students.
  • Assess students who appear to be in need of speech and language treatment.
  • Attend IEPs and evaluation meetings to monitor student progress as required by the IEP review process.
  • Work effectively as a member of a dynamic multi-disciplinary school based intervention team.
  • Communicate effectively and collaboratively with other Seneca team members (School Psychologists and OTs).
  • Provide consultation and support to school staff regarding the language needs of all students.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, classroom and support staff.
  • Requires occasional travel to schools in Tacoma and South King County.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech Pathology or related field required (CFY candidates welcome to apply)
  • Washington Educational Staff Associate (ESA) for public schools (Can obtain after hire)
  • Washington State License DOH license (SLP license)
  • ASHA Certification of Clinical Competence preferred
  • Valid driver's license and insurability through Seneca's automobile policy
  • Fulfillment of TB test, fingerprinting and state clearance, and any other mandatory state/federal requirements
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination

Schedule

  • Part-Time
  • Monday – Friday, school hours 
  • One dedicated documentation/planning day per week with some flexibility in work location 
  • Ability to create and manage therapy schedule within school hours 
  • Follows a school year calendar with paid school breaks

  • Starting at $37.64- $44.37 per hour the actual salary dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications
