Talent Acquisition & Compensation Specialist

Lee County Human Resources is hiring! Are you looking to perform meaningful work on a dynamic team? Reporting to the Talent Acquisition & Compensation Manger, this is an exciting position that will be responsible for developing and implementing effective recruiting strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for the organization.

  •  Duties and Responsibilities:Work collaboratively with assigned county departments to understand needs and develop successful recruitment and compensation strategies.
  • Assist hiring managers in creating job postings and interview questions that reflect position requirements and departmental preferences.
  • Review applicants and refer qualified candidates to assigned hiring managers.
  • Participate on interview panels to identify top candidates through evaluation of experience, education, training, skills, knowledge, and abilities.
  • Coordinate and participate in career fairs, community outreach events, and site visits with local schools, colleges, and universities to enhance employment opportunity awareness. 
  • Develop online and social media driven recruiting methods for sourcing of qualified candidates to connect with passive candidates. 
  • Identify and implement streamlining procedures to maximize the utilization of the county’s applicant tracking and onboarding system.
  • Recommend and develop testing and screening assessments to provide departments with enhanced candidate information.
  • Conduct classification studies and position audits to recommend the proper assignment of positions to job groups and pay grades.
  • Conduct compensation reviews to develop salary recommendations for new hires, promotions, and transfers.
  • Review requests for pay adjustments to ensure equity and compliance with County policies and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Analyze and interpret salary survey data to develop compensation structures and programs to ensure market competitiveness.
  • Assist departments with strategic workforce planning and organizational design projects.
  • Partner with onboarding specialists and systems specialist to become familiar with modifications or enhancements to applicant tracking and onboarding system.
  • Other duties as assigned to support cross-functional department initiatives and special projects to include onboarding, information systems, learning and development, benefits, and operations.


  •  Education, Experience, Licensing:Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year university or college with a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field. *Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered:
  • Four years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources or a closely related field is equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field. 
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record is preferred.

  • Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills to articulate complex technical information through clear, concise, and compelling analytical recommendations, presentations, and reports. 
  • Utilize strong planning, organization, prioritization, and time management.
  • Apply independent judgment and critical thinking for recommendations and decisions.
  • Possession of a current Human Resources Professional certification through the Human Resources Certification Institute (PHR, SPHR) or Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) is valued.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish and experience with NEOGOV Onboard is a plus.
 
The work days and hours for this position are Monday - Friday 8:00am- 4:30pm.
