Electrical Engineering Intern

We have an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Engineering Intern at our Miami, Florida facility. The Intern will report directly to the Electrical Engineer in the Electrical Maintenance Department. The internship will consist of the opportunity to work on projects in the following areas:
 
Projects:
 
Projects and assignments are available in the following Electrical Engineering Areas:
 
  1. Power Distribution, Quality & Energy (PDQE)
  2. Instrumentation and Controls (I&C)
  3. Automation (A)
  4. Maintenance management (MM)
 
Project list:
  1. Arc Flash mitigation project - Assist with project implementation - will include design review, power system model review, coordination with power system engineers and suppliers, as well as on site coordination of mitigation implementation (PDQE)
  2. Digitization of reporting – improve and update paper-based inspections and reporting to leverage the use of various cloud-based platforms – goCanvas, MaintenX, DOMO (MM)
  3. Finish mill compressor project - Assist with project implementation – will include design review, field audits, coordination with design engineers (I&C + PDQE)
  4. Sensor project - Research and document instrumentation devices for various process lines (I&C)
  5. ThinkIQ safety AI – Assist with project implementation of video based AI solution for early identification of safety issues.
  6. Identify and evaluate spare part inventories for process critical electrical and control equipment. (MM)
  7. Digitize existing electrical and control schematics and create/update them based on field surveys of modifications. (I&C)
  8. Digitize, organize and catalog electrical documentation library. (MM)
 
 
Qualifications:
  • Student actively pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, or related discipline (3.0 GPA or higher)
  • Excellent communication skills with professional decorum, oral and written.
  • Strong attention to detail with analytical and judgment capabilities to anticipate issues.
  • Ability to work effectively and independently in a team environment
  • Proficient ability in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Positive attitude to achieve goals and deliver results.
