The Office of Immigrant [Legal] Services (OIS) in Knoxville, TN is offering an opportunity for a dynamic and driven VISTA Member to join the team. As a VISTA Member, you will work alongside a team of dedicated professionals. You will be at the forefront of an innovative initiative designed to promote economic stability. The Lab@OIS was developed to offer accessible immigration-related resources to immigrant and refugee communities. The OIS Content Creator and Volunteer Coordinator VISTA will engage with the community by creating content, recruiting, and training volunteers to provide services. The VISTA Member will update and coordinate content on The Lab@OIS platform and social media. The Lab@OIS aims to empower individuals who lack access to legal services by providing them with the resources to manage their legal matters, such as employment verification and citizenship applications. By offering these resources, The Lab@OIS helps alleviate poverty in the community. This VISTA position is part of Catholic Charities USAs Family Strengthening Program, a national intermediary project. VISTA members will meet virtually with VISTA Leaders and other VISTA members serving throughout the country, all focused on alleviating poverty. Member Activities Include: Recruit and train volunteers for the Lab; Design a training manual for volunteers; Oversee schedule of volunteers; Create fundraisers and social media materials for the Lab@OIS in collaboration with the Development Department; Work events to fundraise for the Lab@OIS; Create a guide to event organizing; Create social media templates using the Lab existing logo; Create social media content for the OIS and the Lab@OIS social media including updates from USCIS; Update existing templates and create new ones for the Lab;
Member Duties : Create a volunteer workforce to provide services through the Lab@OIS. Create and update content on the platform (google classroom). Promote and fundraise for the Lab@OIS. Update the OIS and The Lab@OIS social media.
