Catholic Charities Kansas City-St Joseph Marketing and Communications AmeriCorps VISTA

This VISTA position is a part of Catholic Charities USA’s Family Strengthening Program, a national intermediary project. As a member, you will meet virtually with VISTA Leaders and other VISTAs serving throughout the country, all focused on alleviating poverty. We provide services to 27 counties within northwest Missouri and have offices in Kansas City, MO and St. Joseph, MO. We currently offer families over 30 programs to help them on their path to self-reliance. The Marketing and Communications VISTA will help us spread the word on programs and services to both families in need and those that want to help by volunteering or donating. The VISTA will focus on video production and editing of our services and success stories. These videos will be on social media platforms, as well as eBlasts and on our website. We also wish the VISTA to increase the blog updates on our website. This will make sure the content is fresh and accurate. We ask the VISTA to create a new eBlast template and begin a set schedule of eBlasts. The VISTA will also be asked to help write articles for our Hope Matters Newsletter, which mails to almost 50,000 addresses every quarter. Lastly, we would like the VISTA to research more organizations in the community that may want to assist in a Food or Baby Drive to help stock our new Serve and Lift Pantries.

Member Duties : Create general videos of our services to educate donors and people seeking help. These videos will help reach more clients and be additional tools for increasing their skills and improving lives. Generate blog posts highlighting our services and events, keeping new information on our website. Assist with researching and developing new outlets to reach people interested in food or diaper drives to support our new Serve and Lift Centers. Create email marketing drafts, deploy email performance reminders, and maintain subscriber lists; coordinate and design projects such as emails newsletters and appeals, website blogs promoted through social media.· Brainstorm and create content for our quarterly newsletter.
