Content Marketing Manager

National Journal’s Network Science Initiative (NSI) is hiring a Content Marketing Manager to help accelerate the growth trajectory of our social impact and reputational risk research service.

What is National Journal’s Social Impact & Reputational Risk Research Service?
National Journal’s newest product is a research service that helps Fortune 500 companies make informed decisions about when and how to engage on societal issues, such as racial equity, LGBTQ+ rights, climate, and human rights. We support clients by monitoring the current conversation around these issues, benchmarking our clients’ actions compared to their peers, and analyzing the advantages and risks of engaging on specific issues.

Position in Brief:
The marketing role is responsible for product marketing strategy and execution for our societal issues and reputational risk service. In this role, they will be responsible for creating product market assets, as well as executing outbound campaigns and inbound lead-generating strategies that establish the firm as one of the foremost thought leaders on how companies should manage societal issues. 

The ideal candidate would have a background in developing and executing campaigns, channel strategies, and sales enablement to drive lead acquisition and pipeline progression for new business and account expansion.  

This is an integral role on the team with the opportunity to impact the business. 

Your responsibilities:
  • Partner with the research analysts to develop product marketing assets that highlight our expertise and intelligence – these could include short white papers, short- and long-form articles, blog posts, infographics, social media graphics, etc.  
  • Create sales collateral and enablement materials including one-pagers, pitch decks, etc.
  • Write compelling marketing messaging for use in outbound email campaigns, social media, events, and on our website
  • Identify and pitch external speaking engagements– in partnership with our PR lead–that create opportunities for our product leadership to address key markets
  • Identify conferences/sponsored events relevant to our target markets and coordinate event presence including managing on-site logistics and planning, pre- and post-event follow-up, and lead capture
  • Maintain our product-dedicated website (currently in development) which includes building landing pages for new case studies and thought leadership pieces
  • Manage social media strategy to include building our steady stream of compelling campaign content, lead mechanism, and capture

Qualifications of the ideal candidate:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or similar
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing roles, experience with acquisition marketing, lead generation activities, and supporting B2B sales
  • Proven experience in driving increased marketing lead volume and sales growth
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, track record of initiative, and ownership of work
  • High energy, demonstrated sense of urgency with excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to develop strong, trust-based relationships with leaders in Sales and Research/Product.
  • Experience with CRMs and marketing automation software (Salesforce and Marketo) preferred
  • Active contributor to a diverse and inclusive workplace
  • A full course of the COVID-19 vaccination is required for employment at National Journal

Employment Type: Full-time

Compensation: The salary range for this role is $75,000-$85,000, with a performance bonus

Location: This job is based in Washington, DC. National Journal operates on a hybrid schedule, with employees required to be in the office every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. During the month of August 2023, National Journal teams will be fully remote.
