The State Water Resources Control Board, Division of Financial Assistance has two (2) openings for a Water Resource Control Engineer in the State Revolving Fund Water Quality Unit, Loans and Grants Branch. The position is located at 1001 I Street, Sacramento, right in the heart of downtown close to light rail stations and other public transportation.

Under the close supervision of a Senior Water Resource Control Engineer, the incumbent will work as a Project Manager to provide financial assistance to projects that address water quality protection and improvement; and provide safe and affordable drinking water. The incumbent will work on a variety of complex professional tasks related to planning, design, construction, management, and implementation of projects. The incumbent is expected to be courteous and provide timely responses to internal/external customers, follow through on commitments, and solicit and consider internal/external customer input when completing work assignments. Knowledge and understanding of water treatment systems and water pumping, storage, and distribution facilities, in addition to knowledge and understanding of field investigation methods is necessary for the incumbent to successfully manage projects in this position. The incumbent will also coordinate with other State Water Board divisions and offices, the Regional Water Boards, and other regulatory agencies. Some travel will be required. Additional duties.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.
