Development Assistant - Capital Campaign

In partnership with the Financial Development Department, this position will support the efforts of the Capital Campaign Director during the Association capital campaign to include start-up and conclusion of the campaign.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES OF A DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANT - CAPITAL CAMPAIGN:
  • Set up and maintain all records needed to manage the campaign.
  • In collaboration with the Financial Development Department, maintains capital campaign donor base data.
  • Write and/or generate all correspondence related to the campaign, including meeting notices, minutes, standard business letters and e-correspondence.
  • Prepare and manage all case statements for campaign volunteer leadership and ensure they are delivered to campaign volunteers in a timely manner.
  • In collaboration with the development team, arrange and manage campaign donor event logistics.
  • Act as a central communications coordinator between campaign leadership, agency staff campaign director, agency leadership and campaign consultant.
  • Assist in the development of campaign newsletter, suggesting and/or writing articles for it. Ensure the timely production and distribution of campaign newsletter on a regular basis.
  • Work to ensure that all pledges and gifts are confirmed by the donor in writing.
  • Coordinate with Financial Development Department to ensure that pledges and gifts are properly recorded and billed.

REQUIREMENTS TO BE A DEVLOPMENT ASSISTANT - CAPITAL CAMPAIGN:
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Familiarity with donor management software (Raisers Edge). Skilled in e-communications.
  • Able to maintain a positive attitude at all times. True “customer service” attitude, with colleagues, campaign volunteers, and donors.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Basic understanding, or willingness to learn, basic principles of non-profit fundraising from a major gifts perspective.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
