Software Engineer on Executions Team

As a Software Engineer on our Executions Team at Gelber, you will have a real opportunity to have a long-term career in Engineering at a successful trading firm. You will work side by side with other talented Engineers. This role is for someone who flourishes in a fast-paced environment, has a strong work ethic, is a clear communicator, and has a strong interest in the financial markets. This position will report directly into the Director of our Executions engineering team who reports directly into the Chief Technology Officer.

What you’ll do:
  • Participate in all phases of software process – design, development, testing, integration, deployment, and support
  • As part of a highly skilled development team, you will design and develop applications that enable proprietary trading at Gelber Group
  • Convert legacy components into state-of-the-art applications
  • Work in an agile environment
  • Apply and improve your C++ and Java skills

What you’ll need:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • 2-4 years of experience coding in C++
  • Familiarity with Linux
  • Experience with Java is not required, but strongly preferred
  • Strong communication skills specifically when it comes to understanding requirements or issues, so you can successfully translate them into code
  • Familiarity or experience working in an agile environment
  • Understanding of the financial market domain, preferably from working in trading, banking, exchanges, or clearing is a bonus
