Mammography Technologist
Maxim Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform a variety of technical activities associated with the performance of screening and diagnostic mammography procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Performs a variety of tasks involving the operation of mammographic radiographic equipment and other equipment/devices as appropriate.
- Explains mammography procedure to all patients; answers any patient questions or concerns
- Positions patients, using immobilization when necessary. Calculate exposure factors, assist physicians.
- Perform the quality control functions related to mammography.
- Evaluate radiographs for diagnostic quality obtaining additional images as needed.
- Prepare and set up medical supplies using aseptic techniques if appropriate. Explain procedures to patients.
- Develop mammography film. Match with the appropriate paperwork for interpretation.
- Charge mammography procedures and supplies to the patient's medical record.
- Assist in maintenance and compilation of statistical data
- Adheres to all Maxim and worksite rules, policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Completion of a 24-month AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology Program.
- Current State License or Certificate, if required by state regulations or contract specifications.
- One (1) year of experience as a Mammographer preferred.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to accurately communicate with patients
- Current BLS card.
- Successful completion of testing process.
- Current physical exam, if required by state regulations or contract specifications.
- Current TB test or chest x-ray.
