Programs Coordinator

 Salary: Anticipated salary for this role is $45,000 to $50,000, depending on experience. References will be requested.
Job Type: Full-time, regular staff member

Work Type: Hybrid – The expectations for this position range from full-time in-office work to a blend of remote and in-office work, to travel to facilitate events at public lands, depending on the needs of the Park Trust

Position Overview
National Park Trust seeks a self-motivated and talented Programs Coordinator to assist with the organization’s overall programs and partnerships goals. This position is an excellent opportunity to build experience as a program planning professional for a national non-profit. Strong interpersonal communication skills are a must for maintaining positive partnerships with stakeholders. Individuals must have the ability to manage multiple projects and programs independently. Candidates must be based in the D.C. metropolitan area, have a driver’s license and vehicle, have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs., and travel to different program sites around the country as needed. This is a full-time, 40-hour/week, year-round position.
 
The person in this role will be expected to co-produce high-quality programs that engage target audiences and illustrate the Park Trust’s professionalism and experience. The Programs Coordinator’s primary duties will include tasks associated with program planning and grassroots organizing for National Park Trust program areas, including but not limited to military engagement, college engagement, Kids to Parks Day, Buddy Bison Programs, ParkPassport mobile app, and more. The ideal candidate must be able to multitask and be an excellent communicator with superb organizational skills. Candidates should also have a passion for parks and public lands or a willingness to gain a deeper connection with the outdoors. This is a full-time 40 hours/week position. 
 
Position Description:
●    Assist in all aspects of the Park Trust’s expanding national youth & family engagement programs, focusing on the DC metro area.
●    Coordinate and manage day-to-day relationships with program partners for assigned youth & family engagement programs.
o  Certain program logistics and activities will require some in-state and out-of-state travel.
●    Assist with operational aspects of Kids to Parks Day, working closely with the Partnerships and Programs team.
●    Administer and coordinate in-person and virtual park experiences for assigned Buddy Bison schools nationwide.
●    Assist, as needed, with ParkPassport mobile app data entry and management.
●    Prepare written reports for outings and communicate clearly with the appropriate Director regarding all trip aspects.
●    Contribute to regularly scheduled department meetings and monthly staff meetings.
●    Develop detailed program planning materials for programs.
●    Maintain an organized collection of photos, partner testimonials, and other collateral for use in development, grant, and marketing efforts.
●    As needed, assist the communications team with social media content and engagement, newsletters, and website updates.
●    Coordinate and assist with special event planning as needed.

Skills & Qualifications
●    4-year college degree from an accredited college or university.
●    Ability to work effectively with a team or independently and meet deadlines efficiently.
●    Creative and strategic thinker.
●    Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail.
●    Strong communication skills (written, phone, and in-person). Written documents will include email communications, website content, blogs, etc. 
●    Creative and open to expressing new ideas to improve programming and troubleshoot issues. 
●    High proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, Google Suite, and WordPress is preferred. Canva is a bonus.
●    Flexibility and poise while juggling multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to troubleshoot when necessary.
●    A passion for the mission and a desire to gain experience and develop professionally.
