Marketing Internship

The Marketing Intern works in the Washington, DC, office and assists the Director of Public Relations and Marketing in designing and creating graphics, creating and posting multi-media content to multiple social media platforms, creating and posting educational content to a membership communications portal and other duties as assigned. An appropriate candidate will be creative, a self-starter and have an eye for detail.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Designing and creating graphics for social media, print and online publications
  • Creating and posting multi-media content to social media platforms, including Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and Facebook
  • Creating and posting educational content to a membership communication portal (i.e., a message board specific to the association's members)
  • Updating an internal media contact list, which requires use of online search, email and phone calls to update contact information for current media personnel and/or research new contacts
  • Finding external news articles for daily enewsletter and posting the articles to association’s intranet
 
Skills and Abilities Requirements
Graphic design major preferred
Basic knowledge of layouts, typography, line composition, color and other graphic design fundamentals
Experience with InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Excel
Experience using social media platforms for a business or school organization
Strong creative and analytical skills
