BMF Fall 2023 - Music PR Internship

BMF
Who we are

BMF is a collective of Cultural Engineers headquartered in NYC with offices in Miami, Los Angeles and London. We are a global, full-service integrated marketing agency, specializing in event design & production, brand marketing, marketing strategy, sponsorships, talent management & bookings, publicity, and social media & influencer relations. We constantly strive to expand our offering as an agency.

Does this sound like you?

The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Vice President of Music PR with multiple campaigns that include artist PR and music industry corporate PR. Day to day work can include research of contacts and potential client opportunities, writing media alerts and press releases and pitching media on potential coverage.

BMF University

BMFU is an organic institution where “higher education” is designed to give students a distinct learning experience different
than the exposure acquired at schools or have had in previous internships. Through day-to-day mentorship, hands-on
experience and access to category experts across the agency, BMFU’s goal is for interns to be able to discover the ins and
outs of all aspects of integrated marketing.

We ask interns to bring a professional attitude as well as the experience they have already collected. To us this means interns have and share ideas, are engaged in assignments, listen, ask questions, follow directions, show up on time, and in general give it their all. In return, it means BMF gives interns time, feedback, insight, help, and a push in the right direction when needed. Bottom line – we are in this together, so we all learn and have a rewarding and fun experience.

BMFU offers a robust learning initiative available via remote meetings.

Plans include:

  • A Lunch & Learn program designed to give interns time to meet senior associates in the company on a more personal level via Zoom. Discussions can range from how people started in the business to how they developed their careers, from what their role is at BMF to how it fits into the overall aspects of what BMF does. Lunch & Learns are a chance to ask questions, learn, and get to know people.
  • Master Classes are taught by professionals and specialists in their field. No matter what department you intern in, these classes will help give you a better understanding of the company’s various departments, how each department fits in the business mix, and a general overview of key learnings. Classes range from “The Elements of Amazing Production” to “What is a Strategy” to “How to Read a Contract.”
  • Special Projects are required for all full-time interns and are elective for part-time interns. Interns work directly with his/her supervisor to plan and execute. This should be an undertaking that encompasses a high interest area for the intern and strongly relates to BMF’s business.
