Bilingual (Spanish) Media Relations Manager
 
FC Dallas is looking for a Bilingual (Spanish) Media Relations Manager to serve as a liaison to local, national, and international media for FC Dallas. This role will also support media relations efforts for the club’s affiliated properties: National Soccer Hall of Fame, North Texas SC, FC Dallas Academy, Toyota Stadium, the Frisco Bowl, etc.
 
The right candidate has a growth mindset, understands the dynamic media landscape and embraces the concept of consistent media outreach in an incredibly crowded sports market. This is an in-office position that requires working nights, weekends and holidays in addition to normal 9-5 hours.
 
Key duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Identifying story ideas and communications campaigns to proactively pitch to media
  • Managing matchday operations including credentialing, preparing game notes, game recaps, pregame/in-game/postgame interviews, press box operations (including set-up and breakdown)
  • Serving as primary sports communications manager for the FC Dallas first team and head coach
  • Scheduling and managing player/coach interviews on non-matchdays
  • Overseeing FC Dallas media schedule
  • Managing FC Dallas player appearances
  • Overseeing a team of one to two interns per season
 
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Strong demonstrated writing and editing ability
  • Associated Press-style writing skills
  • Computer skills should include proficiency in Microsoft Office as well as layout and design software (Photoshop and InDesign)
  • Proficiency in media monitoring software (Meltwater)
  • Experience operating computer stat packages (Elias, Opta, etc)
  • Ability to meet deadlines
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations or relevant fields and a minimum of four years of experience in the professional, minor league or collegiate athletics communications field
