Job Summary

Responsible for developing, administering, and monitoring the compliance system to maintain institutional control of the University's NCAA Division I Athletics program.

Responsible for the comprehensive administration of all athletic compliance functions of the institution to ensure compliance with NCAA and other applicable laws, rules, and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and oversees a state-of-the-art, comprehensive Athletics compliance and risk assessment program and methodology (including periodic risk assessments, internal compliance reviews, regulatory inspection programs, and monitoring activities to detect and remedy compliance program gaps/weaknesses)
• Manages appropriate digital and non-digital platforms for capturing, tracking, and reviewing data analytics to assist with detection, prevention and remediation of risk
• Assembles and manages a cross-functional compliance team and delegates assignments, as needed and including monitoring recruiting, eligibility, financial aid, and amateurism
• Develops and maintains productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and regulatory authorities, including but not limited to other University departments, conferences of which the University is a member, and the NCAA (including committee service)
• Prepares, conducts and coordinates compliance training and materials, including compliance manuals, written policies and procedures, and other items and conduct training for all appropriate constituents to minimize, manage, or avoid legal exposure or risk
• Prepares or assists with drafting and maintaining compliance work plans, reports, self-disclosures, responses to formal and informal inquiries (from bodies including the NCAA, conferences of which the University is a member, and accrediting bodies) and other documentation (including recruiting, play/practice season, and team travel documentation)
• Leads and/or oversees audits, investigations into alleged NCAA infractions, or other athletic compliance reviews, including preparation and presentation of written investigative reports and implementation of remedial measures, as appropriate
• Attends athletic events, booster events, alumni activities, and other functions as needed, to monitor risk and compliance activity; serves as a sport supervisor as assigned
• Monitors and assesses the conduct of University leadership, Athletics staff, coaches, student athletes, prospective student athletes, sponsors and representatives of athletic interest (“boosters”) for legal sufficiency and NCAA compliance, as the circumstances warrant
• Serves as Deputy Title IX Coordinator for Athletics, responsible for monitoring Athletic department compliance with Title IX, NCAA Sexual Violence Prevention guidance, and other applicable equity laws, rules, regulations, and guidelines

Proposed Salary

$67,100 - $85,700

This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
