SNY Content Coordinator

SNY is an Emmy Award winning, multiplatform regional sports network serving millions of homes throughout the New York Metropolitan area and across the country through unparalleled and exclusive coverage of the New York Mets, New York Jets, UConn women’s basketball and all things New York sports.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Content Coordinator is responsible for all communication and acquisition of content appearing on the SNY network, SNY website and SNY social channels during their shift. This role is responsible for communicating with external New York Public Relations staff(s) and other media outlets to acquire content via Zoom, schedule, and share transmission information with crews out in the field and back at the headquarters.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain quality control of all incoming elements, including remote setups, streamed content, and taped field content of incoming content to all SNY platforms through Slack
  • Collaborate on scheduling Field Producers and Multi-Platform Photographer/Editors
  • Host and participate in daily meetings to coordinate and share cross-platforms plans
  • Lead daily meetings to coordinator and share cross-platforms plans
  • Responsible for communication of active feed paths to content staff.
  • Provide office administrative support, such as reserving production trucks, remote studios, and organizing conference video conference calls.  
  • Liaison with team and league communication staffs; this includes media credentialing, zoom access and future schedules
  • Assist in updating team/league mandated video guidelines and restrictions for both linear and digital platforms
  • Self-starter who demonstrates the ability to present and lead the execution of original content ideas
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
 
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
  •  Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of experience in sports media, video production, or related field
  • Knowledge of all technical aspects of news content gathering, including via satellite, fiber, LiveU, TVU, FTP, internet pool, and mobile transfer
  • Proficient computer literacy and technological competence
  • Multimedia/digital journalism skills; shooting with iPhone and file transfer
  • Experience with the following software is highly preferred, AVID Media Composer, Media Central CloudUX, Capture Manager, iNews, video conferencing systems, Jump Box, Filezilla, and Dropbox
  • Cross-departmental interaction on daily production planning and execution
  • Strong ability to communicate path transmission and overall field set up to field team and in house control room in a clear and concise manner
  • Demonstrate strong editorial judgement
  • Ability to follow through on tight deadlines while managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent oral, written, and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization and outside vendors on behalf of company
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays (i.e. shift hours 8am-4:30pm and 4:00pm-12:30am)
  • Preparedness to travel as required for work, including on short notice
