Front end development internship/OPT position for health/longevity and math tutoring software
We are building a state-of-the-art Medical Machine Learning application
that will improve the lives of millions of people by helping them live longer and healthier. We are also creating AI/machine learning software to tutor students on Algebra 1 the way human tutors do. We are looking for a Front-End Web Developer who is motivated to combine the art of design
with the art of programming. Responsibilities will include translation of the UI/UX design wireframes to actual code that will produce the visual elements of the application. You will work with the UI/UX
designer and bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works. Front-end development will be conducted utilizing React, with a Django back-end employing an AWS RDS
database. The project uses GitHub for code storage and you are expected to check in your code on a daily basis.
Candidates will have demonstrated experience with both React and Django and are available in the evenings to meet with the team at least 2 nights per week. Communication is key in this role. You will be expected to utilize Slack and email to communicate with your teammates on a regular basis. This is a fast-paced project, requiring you implement designs and keep lines of communication open with the team and your supervisor. You will be expected to perform thorough unit testing of all
code before checking in.
Experience with AWS is a major advantage, but not required. Good English language skills are a must. The successful candidate will be personally invested in the outcome of the program and will diligently work as an integrated team member - this is not the place for an individual solo
contributor - teamwork is a must.
