We are seeking a skilled Coastal Engineer to join our team to carry out federal projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Coastal Engineering or a related field.
- Prior experience with FEMA and levee system design is a plus.
- Expertise in modeling storm surge and coastal morphology response to storm events using preferred models such as XBeach, CShore, SBeach, CEDAS Suite, CStorm, ADCIRC.
- Strong coding experience in matlab or python, and familiarity with C# or another low-level language.
- Strong analytical skills and experience performing cost-benefit analysis.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with a team.
- Must be a US citizen.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct risk assessments for coastal areas and identify potential hazards.
- Design, evaluate, and improve levee systems to ensure their effectiveness.
- Model storm surge and coastal morphology response to storm events using preferred models such as XBeach, CShore, SBeach, CEDAS Suite, CStorm, ADCIRC.
- Code in matlab or python to analyze data and build models.
- Perform cost-benefit analysis to evaluate the economic feasibility of proposed projects.
- Collaborate with other engineers and project stakeholders to develop effective solutions.
