Job Summary
Did you know there are people on this planet that actually want elephants & rhinos to go
extinct? They are sitting in warehouses stocked with valuable ivory, but when the animals are
gone for good, that value will skyrocket. This is one of the many wildlife topics you will have the
opportunity to explore while writing content for the SPN! blog & newsletter.
Stop Poaching Now! is a non-profit organization dedicated to wildlife conservation and ending
the global poaching crisis. Our mission is to protect endangered species and their habitats by
raising awareness, advocating for policy change, and supporting community-led conservation
initiatives around the world. Through collaboration with local communities, government
agencies, and other organizations, we work to create a sustainable future for wildlife and the
planet.
Responsibilities:
- Write and edit engaging blog posts and newsletter articles on topics related to wildlife
conservation and SPN! updates.
- Conduct research to ensure accuracy and relevance of content.
- Work closely with the Marketing Team to develop themes and strategies.
- Incorporate SEO best practices to increase website traffic and engagement.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.
- Assist with managing the editorial calendar and meeting deadlines for content delivery.
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled, or graduated, with a Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a
related field, or able to demonstrate equivalent experience.
- Excellent writing and editing skills.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Strong ability to work independently
- Thrives in small teams
- Familiarity with SEO best practices.
- Experience with content management systems such as WordPress (preferred).
- Passion for wildlife conservation and the mission of Stop Poaching Now!
- Ability to work remotely
This is an unpaid internship/volunteer position. Candidates must be able to commit to a
minimum of 2 articles per month, with flexible scheduling available.
