Structural Engineering Internship (Fall 2023)

What to Expect

Disclaimer: This position is expected to start around August/September 2023 and continue through the entire Fall 2023 term (i.e. through December) or into early Spring 2023 if available. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time, for most internships. Please consider before submitting an application.

International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.

What You’ll Do
About the Team 

Our team is aligned around three pillars - Design, Build and Operate. Focused on optimizing the space we have, finding the best solutions to our immediate term expansion needs, and devising and driving our long-term strategy. All of this under the guiding principle of sustainability. 

What to Expect  

Qualified applicants may be reviewed and considered by one or more of the following teams:  
  • Support the design and construction of a variety of new and renovations to existing industrial, manufacturing, and office facilities in our high-tech facilities across the U.S. 
  • Work with multidiscipline project teams including Mechanical, Electrical, Piping/Plumbing 
  • MEP) professionals. 
  • Conduct structural analysis and design of concrete and steel structures, along with the creation of justifying structural calculations. 
  • Make technical assumptions, think independently to complete assigned work, and draw conclusions based on engineering judgement. 
  • Complete field work independently or with the design team 
  • Support preparation of design drawings, plans, sections, details, and schedules in Revit 
What You’ll Bring
  • Currently working towards BS MS or Advanced degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering
  • Previous work experience in a related engineering field 
  • Ability to work with a diverse team 
  • Working knowledge of US building codes and structural design standards 
  • Primary structural coursework completed prior to start of internship 
  • Experience in structural design of buildings or industrial structures 
  • Experience with Revit Structural, RISA 3D, or ETABs 
  • Fundamentals of Engineer (FE) Test taken/passed 
  • Ability to work independently
