Fiscal Analyst

About the Role: The Fiscal Analyst will report to the Deputy Director of Fiscal Operations, to facilitate a variety of fiscal related tasks including budget, purchasing, accounts payables, travel, and other special projects. The Analyst will assist the unit’s efforts to support over 30 units within the Mayor’s Office with various fiscal related requests to ensure these are addressed and closed. The requests may vary within purchasing, payments, travel, and other processes managed by Fiscal Operations. The role requires discretion, confidentiality and comfortability communicating with all levels of management of the organization.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Serve as a resource for all fiscal related inquiries and/or requests by providing technical support to units and vendors. • Provide OTPS budget structures for various fiscal requests. • Update and maintain travel grids for audit and FOIL purposes. • Compile and gather documents for audit and FOIL requests. • Provide support to employees with their business travel requests to secure necessary approvals and gather supporting documentation. • Assist and circulate monthly financial reports to monitor expenditures, purchasing levels and track vendor payments timeliness. • Monitor the use of assets and circulate compliance reports. • Assist with monthly reconciliations for the various accounts held by the Mayor’s Office. • Assist with establishing standards and procedures to guide the administration of organizational fiscal compliance. • Act as a liaison with FISA to register new users and assist with password resets, technical support. • Support Fiscal with all year end related activities as required. • Work closely with the Deputy Director and other members of Fiscal on special projects.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree with 1+ years of relevant professional experience. • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. • Excellent written and oral communication. • Ability to work independently and within a fast-paced environment • Strong desire to collaborate across a team environment • Self-starter, keen attention to detail, flexibility, and an enthusiastic work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Understanding of the Citywide procurement & Fiscal policies and procedures and NYC Comptroller Directives. • Experience with City Financial systems and reporting, in particular FMS and PASSPort.
