Job Overview:
The MPS (Mercedes-Benz Production System) department is the leading know-how carrier for lean manufacturing, process standardization and continuous improvement. We work directly with our customers and facilitate workshops, deliver trainings, run projects and build low-cost solutions to support both production and admin areas. We are focused on improving the effectiveness and efficiency of our systems while also capacitating our employees and spreading the lean culture.
Responsibilities:
- Participation in continuous improvement initiatives, workshops and projects (production and administration processes) by using lean manufacturing tools and methods and supporting with preparation, execution.
- Support training initiatives.
- Independent planning, organization, execution and documentation of subtasks within the department, actively communicate with involved areas as needed.
- Creation of documents such as management presentations, standards documentation, excel sheets and etc.
Qualifications
- Having graduated within the past 12 months or currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a Engineering related field
- Knowledge in MS Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Structured thinking and quick comprehension
- Flexibility and high level of commitment is required
- All candidates should be available for a 6 months full time internship
Preferred Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in University or in a gap year between Bachelor's and Master’s degree
- A minimum of 3 semesters of studies in relevant field of study
- Available for a minimum of 3 months, prefer availability for a maximum of 6 months
- Preferred 40/hour work week, but part time hours are also available
Additional details:
- Hourly rate is $20/hour.
- MBV does not offer assisted living or a relocation package for this assignment

Here in Ladson, SC, Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC is writing an exciting chapter in the Mercedes-Benz Group history. As the first U.S. van part-by-part production plant for the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, MBV assembles vans for the U.S. and Canadian market. Representing an additional nearly $60 million investment, MBV Charleston was selected to be the first plant in Mercedes-Benz Vans global production network to produce the all-new eSprinter, beginning in the second half of 2023. The midsize Mercedes-Benz Metris vans are also reassembled at this location.
Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC has invested more than 500 million U.S. dollars in the new Sprinter plant, which officially opened in 2018. Today the MBV facility provides more than 1,600 jobs and supports at least 600 additional jobs in the region through its suppliers. More than 300,000 Sprinter and Metris vans have been assembled in Ladson and delivered to destinations across the U.S. since 2006. In 2021, the plant celebrated its 15-year legacy of SKD production in South Carolina. The U.S. is the second largest market for Sprinter vans, after Germany.
