Telemedicine Communications Specialist

The STS Communications Specialist can apply for this position as a part-time or full-time employee. These qualified individuals are required to act as the communications liaison between our remote clients in various medical facilities and the on-call specialty physicians. In a typical shift, they must be prepared to receive consultative medical assistance requests via phone, video and robotic devices, and/or email communications, and coordinate interconnections to the appropriate medical personnel. All topics will be covered during training.

Responsibilities: Daily shift responsibilities include but are not limited to:
o  Checking that on-site hardware such as computers, phones, mobile devices, and other telecommunications infrastructure and software systems are functioning properly. They must be able to apply basic troubleshooting measures when needed.
o  Performing equipment checks with on-call physicians and special projects’ clients by connecting to and confirming that hardware and software systems are functioning. They must ensure that clients are able to communicate with and access our call center and mobile sites.
o  Conducting remote site equipment checks at required time intervals and documenting specific details about the real time functionality of equipment.
o  Using diligence, sound judgment, and proper communication skills to communicate professionally between medical providers, hospitals, public safety entities, and all associated parties.
o  Accurately and thoroughly documenting all communications and associated details in the corresponding logs and shift notes, compile and create reports, demonstrate critical thinking skills to maintain perfect continuity of cases and activities, and other required duties.
 
Requirements:
o  Applicants must have proficiency in Windows computer skills and Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Outlook, Access, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
o  Applicants must possess professional phone etiquette, note taking skills, and ability to take and relay precise instructions.
o  Applicants must be able to follow all STS protocols, identify problems and provide solutions, and report errors to supervisors.
o  Applicants must meet our office standards and maintain a professional appearance, including wearing the appropriate uniform attire.
o  Applicants must be flexible and available to work varied and/or fixed shifts, as needed by the company. Shifts include overnight, daytime, evenings, and/or weekends.
