 As a member of the Transportation Logistics & Analytics team, the Professional Intern is responsible for collecting and analyzing a variety of data, visualizing the data into a cohesive and compelling story, and then delivering that story to key partners to influence strategic decisions and drive the business forward. The intern may also be called upon to help reverse engineer existing logic and help architect new solutions to model and forecast transportation needs. There may also be opportunities for the intern to help with an implementation of a new planning system by building out service in that new system.

The right fit candidate would be someone who is curious, thinks proactively, is eager to tackle complex problems, and is action-oriented. Experience in influencing and partnering with others is an important attribute as is the ability to balance multiple priorities and manage time appropriately. Responsibilities
Your Role...
  • Analyze a wide variety of data using multiple tools and forecasting models, updating existing and creating new tools/models when necessary
  • Assist in the implementation of a new planning system including network design, vehicle blocking, and run cutting
  • Reverse engineer existing Excel and VBA logic and collaborate on approaches with more scalable technologies like Python and SQL
  • Create visualizations that effectively and succinctly summarize analysis and recommendations
  • Present updates and recommendations to key partners, including executives
  • Partner with multiple teams, including Transportation Engineering Services, Industrial Engineering, Finance and Workforce Management

Basic Qualifications
What you bring to the Role: 
  • Positive mindset with a focus on how to accomplish the tasks at hand
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to perform quantitative analysis
  • Superb written and oral communication skills, as well as experience developing presentations
  • Demonstrated strong analytical, problem solving and strategic thinking skills
  • Ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities in a complex business environment
  • Works well in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Resourceful and proactive, with an ability to leverage existing partnerships or forge new relationships to navigate complex situations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven experience with Python, VBA, or other programming languages
  • Knowledge of SAS or SQL programming
  • Experience with Tableau or PowerBI
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Passion for the Disney product

Required Education
  • Current Junior, Senior, recent graduate, or Graduate Student pursuing a degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
Preferred Education
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (Note: Cumulative GPA stated on résumé and application must match cumulative GPA of current institution’s transcript. Please, no rounding.)

Additional Information
Internship Eligibility:
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program. 
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Must provide full work availability for the duration of the term
  • Must provide reliable transportation during the duration of the internship

Location of position: This position has opportunities in Lake Buena Vista, FL

Program Length: The approximate dates of this internship are June 2023 – December 2023. Interns must be fully available for the duration of the internship.
