Position:                     Philanthropy Insight Intern 
Location:           Nationwide/Remote 
FLSA Status:        Non-Exempt
Salary:             $15/hour
 
Position Description:
UNICEF USA seeks an intern for the Philanthropy Insight Team. This internship offers candidates exposure to the inner workings of the Philanthropy Insight team, including its Campaign Planning, Data Strategy & Management, Prospect Intelligence and Relationship Management Teams. Additionally, this internship will engage with partners across the organization’s Philanthropy Division. While assisting with various projects that provide experience in philanthropic prospecting, research and data analytics, interns will also gain an understanding of how UNICEF USA supports a global mission to relentlessly pursue a more equitable world for every child. Under the guidance of the Manager, Prospect Intelligence, the Philanthropy Insight Intern will work on some discrete projects related to the activities of the Philanthropy Insight Team and, at least, one of those projects will be research focused. We are currently seeking paid interns for the UUSA Intern cohort that will commence in February 2023.
This internship would provide an opportunity to learn about:
• managing multilayered projects and delivering actionable results
• conducting research related to philanthropic markets and donor behaviors
• collecting, analyzing and presenting large amounts of data to inform strategic efforts
• UNICEF USA philanthropic operations and UNICEF programs
 
Key Responsibilities/Projects:
  • Support Philanthropy Insight prospecting efforts, data analysis work, donor research, and related ad hoc projects  
  • Conduct research on specific donor giving vehicles and corporate entity structures  
  • Conduct benchmarking research on ethical use of identity-related data in nonprofit sector  
  • Map corporate entity relationships in support of a larger data structure project  
 
Qualifications:
  • Must be a current student enrolled in a college or university degree program  
  • Interest in learning about prospect development and the work that drives revenue resourcing  
  • Interest in conducting research, collecting, interpreting and synthesizing large amounts of diverse data along with an interest in developing project management skills  
  • The successful candidate will have a demonstrated interest in and knowledge of children's rights and global issues  
  • The ideal candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills, be adept at internet research and presenting information in clear and concise ways to audiences of varied size and medium    
  • The ideal candidate will be a resourceful, innovative and energetic team member with the ability to manage multiple priorities, work autonomously with attention to detail, receive and offer feedback, and to work well with a diverse group of people in a virtual team setting  
  • Scrupulous attention to matters of discretion and confidentiality and an ability to handle highly sensitive information is required  
  • Ability to work in a complex, fast-paced environment  
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and effectively manage time well  
  • Must have reliable access to internet  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is required
