Salary: $3000 Stipend (Up to 15 hours/week)
 
Trees Atlanta’s mission is to protect & improve Atlanta’s urban environment by planting, conserving & educating. Trees Atlanta is a non-profit that has served Atlanta for 34 years through tree planting, tree care, education, and forest restoration. Trees Atlanta volunteers assist in all aspects of the organization. They plant and care for trees, remove invasive plants from local greenspaces, lead walking tours, lead youth education events, and much more.
 
Job Description
 
Trees Atlanta’s Education Program Internship is an opportunity for individuals to gain experience working with an environmental non-profit organization. As the Education Intern, you will assist with coordination for Trees Atlanta’s Education programs. Duties include:
 
The Education Program Intern will:

  • Coordinate logistics for select Education events (either in-person or virtual)
  • Assist with admin function concerning program registration (camp, speaking event, etc.)
  • Maintain Salesforce CRM and Zoom to input data and create reports.
  • Create reports to share with Trees Atlanta staff.
  • Serve as a liaison with volunteers, instructors, and guest speakers.
  • Support school break camps.
  • Help provide general information about Trees Atlanta to the public.
  • Attend team meetings once a week.
 
Requirements

  • High School Degree or equivalent (If currently in college this opportunity can be used to meet internship requirements/credits).
  • Interest in environmental science, education, horticulture, biology, non-profit management
  • Basic knowledge of environmental education is helpful.
  • Detail-oriented and autonomous.
  • Works well in teams.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Be self-motivated and enthusiastic.
  • Experience with Office, Salesforce, and Google Suite is a plus.
  • Be available to support in-person events at Trees Atlanta office and around Atlanta. 
  • Be available to work some weekends and evenings.
  • Be able to ride a bike to support camp as needed.
 
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift heavy items and work in all types of outdoor weather conditions
