Job Summary

Coordinates and executes marketing, media relations, and public relations projects that advance the objectives at the Jack D. Gordon Institute for Public Policy, which also contribute to the University's mission and goals.
  • Assists in coordinating Web analytics, mobile analytics, and the social media strategy for the Jack D. Gordon Institute for Public Policy (JGI)
  • Works with Account Manager to develop and curate social media content.
  • Measures customer engagement within all social media platforms and provides detailed reports
  • Coordinates tactical marketing initiatives per the annual marketing plan.
  • Provides basic graphic design support to the Account Manager.
  • Assists Account Manager with duties related to digital content creation and management for the JGI website
  • Assists with all major events.
  • Assist with setting of goals and objectives for all JGI social media accounts. Works on content creation and evaluates the progress of all social media strategies. Identifies opportunities for new initiatives. Stays up to date on the latest social media trends and state-of-the-art technology, such as analytical and content production programs.
  • Creates written, visual, and multimedia content targeted toward specific social media platforms and audiences.
  • Writes headlines and post captions; secures photographs; copyedits proofs. Assists with other online materials as required, including videos and advertisements.
  • Engages with audiences on departmental social media platforms by responding to comments and answering questions.
  • Interprets media/communication administrative rules and policies and recommends new and improved programs


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Media/Public Relations, Communications or related field and one (1) year of experience.


Desired Qualifications

  • Familiar with performance metrics related to e-mail marketing, website, google analytics and social media platforms such as Facebook, twitter, and Instagram.
  • Experience maintaining social media platforms and increasing engagement via Social Media content.
  • Familiarity with Adobe creative suite. Experience with photography and video editing a plus.
