Job Summary
Responsible for the planning, promotion, and implementation of strategic outreach to expand access, build partnerships, and serve as a primary resource to ensure all people feel welcomed, valued and respected by our organization. Cultivates a welcoming, diverse, and inclusive culture throughout the department’s internal and external community. Analyzes equity issues and develops specific goals and objectives to address them. Provides oversight for internal efforts to ensure that organizational actions, policies, and culture reflect a truly inclusive workplace. Works collaboratively with internal and external groups to develop and maintain community partnerships. Presents findings and work products to the Parks and Recreation Commission for decision making purposes. Utilizes current county-wide and/or department specific software to complete assignments. May be required to work an adjusted schedule involving evening hours and/or weekends to attend municipal Boards and related project meetings or activities.

Minimum Qualifications

At the time of application; applicant must.
1.        Possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major preferred in Accounting, Business Administration, Communications, Economics, Finance, Human Resources, Public Administration, Recreation Administration, Marketing, Planning, Project Management, or a closely related field; AND
 
NOTE:  Applicants possessing transcripts from a college or university outside of the United States will be required to provide documentation of degree equivalency from a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (http://naces.org/members.html). The degree evaluation will be required for application processing.
 
2.      Have had at least four (4) years of full-time work experience in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Recreation Administration, Human Resources, or Public Administration; AND
 NOTE: A Master's degree in one of the fields described above may be substituted for one (1) year of required experience. 
3.      Pass the complete examination, including the employment medical, established for this classification. 
4.      Successfully complete the six month (6) probationary period.
