Development Assistant

$16.87 per hour (full-time 37.5 hours per week)

About the Position:
Are you looking to gain some work experience and build your skills in fundraising and special events? We are seeking an ambitious, energetic, and collaborative individual to serve as the organization's Development Assistant. The Development Assistant is responsible for providing general administrative support to the development team, working effectively with team members to achieve development goals. The Development Assistant also assists with special events, fundraising, open house, and other organization events. This position requires tremendous accuracy, excellent attention to detail, solid follow-up skills, and the ability to effectively prioritize and juggle multiple projects. Usual hours of work are scheduled daytime from Monday through Friday, but some evenings and weekend hours may be required. Travel is required. This position is located in Tampa and will require periodic travel to Winter Park and West Palm Beach.

Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED and two to three years related administrative experience and/or training (preferably in a nonprofit development office)
  • Excellent interpersonal and public relations skills; professional phone skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Significant attention to detail, superior organizational and writing skills and the ability to work quickly and efficiently
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and donor database software (Donor Perfect preferred)
  • Detail-oriented self-starter who can efficiently handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Available for evening and weekend events and activities
  • Ability to meet our approved driver qualifications in order to drive your personal vehicle, as required, to drive to meetings and for other business-related needs (minimum age of 21 and good driving history)
