CO - P0964 - Hazardous Waste Permit Writer/Inspector

What you will be doing: The Department of Environmental Quality’s Land Protection & Revitalization Division is seeking a qualified candidate to review and process hazardous waste management facility permit applications, permit modification requests, closure plans, closure reports, and permit related workplans and reports and conduct hazardous waste inspections efficiently and within established timeframes. The position ensures high quality documents are developed and in accordance with technical requirements, best engineering practices, established guidelines and policies, and applicable laws and regulations. The position works with DEQ staff and facilities to resolve contested regulatory and technical issues efficiently, openly, fairly, and consistently. Additional duties of this position include meeting with applicants and/or consultants to discuss and explain regulatory and technical requirements and performing pre-permitting and/or follow up inspections after construction.
