Marketing Intern
About the Organization:
We are a non-profit intermediary engaging between tropical forest countries and the private sector to mobilize finance to support emissions reductions in deforestation. We do this by developing and bringing-to-market practical, credible and large-scale forest protection solutions.
Internship Description:
Emergent is looking for an intern to join our Marketing team. In particular, this exciting role provides an opportunity to play a part in planning marketing and communications activity for The LEAF Coalition.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited:
Research – developing ideas for media stories and thought leadership
Event preparation – everything from event logistics to identifying potential event speakers, researching and booking venues drafting briefing notes and inviting guests
Social media – helping the team to develop cutting edge social media campaigns and monitoring results.
Drafting copy for a wide range of uses, including social media, press releases and brochures
Supporting the team in preparing presentations and reporting on marketing activity
The intern should be prepared to work in a fast-paced team environment and will finish the internship having gained skill in various aspects of marketing.
Intern Qualifications:
Candidates should demonstrate a wide range of the following attributes:
Undergraduate student, ideally majoring in business or marketing or environmental science (desirable)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Extensive use and knowledge of social media channels, particularly LinkedIn and Twitter
Driven and hard-working
Flexible – this role is in a small, hardworking marketing team. The ability to take direction and multi-task is important
Experience in PowerPoint, Word and Excel
Fluent English (other languages, particularly Spanish, French and Portuguese desirable)
Located in European or EST time zone
Keen interest in the environment and sustainability/forest protection
Time Commitment: 30 hours / week
