Consulting Intern- Nonprofit Strategy

Position: Consulting Intern - Nonprofit Strategy 
Start Date: Winter Term

INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW 
The Intern will support the development and implementation of consulting projects for multiple nonprofit, foundation, and corporate clients. Our team is currently in the midst of a variety of exciting projects including: fundraising plans, strategic plans, leadership coaching, and corporate philanthropy plans. We are always taking on new clients, so there is a potential for additional interesting projects in the future. The Intern will have the opportunity to work alongside and learn from multiple consultants by reporting to each project’s lead. 

THE DAY-TO-DAY 
● Regularly communicate with project leads via Zoom, email, and phone to discuss new tasks, collaboratively work on projects, and gain feedback on assignments. ● Assist with the implementation of fundraising plans by developing creative fundraising strategies, drafting fundraising appeals, designing social media posts, researching grant opportunities, and conducting donor research. 
● Assist with the development of strategic plans and corporate philanthropy plans by attending strategic planning workshops, conducting competitor research, brainstorming tailored strategies, and editing materials. 
● Attend our bi-weekly team meeting to hear updates on each consulting project, collaboratively brainstorm solutions to challenges, and participate in workshops. ● Attend client meetings, when necessary, to present strategies and completed projects to clients. 

YOU HAVE: 
Passion: Genuine interest in the work and demonstrated passion for the nonprofit sector.
Experience: 1 to 3 years relevant work experience in nonprofit management, strategic planning, corporate philanthropy, fundraising, or development. 
Education: Pursuing a degree in Nonprofit Management, Social Work, Business Administration, related disciplines, or equivalent experience required. 

YOU ARE: 
A Great Communicator: You possess strong interpersonal, written, and verbal skills. You are adept and confident when speaking in a professional setting and are an excellent presenter. 
A Problem-Solver: You’re a strategic and creative thinker who enjoys dynamic problem solving in a fast-paced, start-up environment with numerous priorities and deadlines.
Analytical: You have the ability to create meaningful KPIs and accurately analyze data.
Equitable: Understands and values racial equity as an organizational operating principle. Committed to learning about issues related to race, equity, diversity, and inclusion. 

WHAT YOU’LL GAIN 
● Internship can be completed for course credit. 
● Monthly stipend. 
● Experience working directly with clients to tackle a variety of nonprofit challenges. ● The Intern may be considered for a position depending on their performance and current openings. 

LOGISTICS 
Almora Advisors is a fully remote firm, so the Intern will work remotely. Applicants must submit a cover letter, resume, and writing sample. The position is part-time for a period of 10 weeks. Outside of team and client meetings, the intern can work on their own schedule. Internships are available on an ongoing basis or are offered for fall, spring, and summer start dates to align with course credit opportunities.
