SRNL Student Intern - Summer 2023 - STEM


About Us:
Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) is a multi-program laboratory applying state of the art science and practical, high-value, cost-effective solutions to complex technical problems to protect the nation. Located at the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Savannah River Site (SRS), the laboratory develops and deploys innovative technologies to address some of the nation’s environmental, energy, and national security challenges.

Situated on the outskirts of South Carolina, SRNL is located approximately 20 minutes from Augusta, Georgia (home of the annual Master’s Golf Tournament) and 30 minutes from Fort Gordon (home of the new US Army Cyber Command). The complex is one hour from South Carolina's Capital: Columbia, within three hours of Charleston's beaches, and just a couple of hours from Greenville/Spartanburg, SC. Aiken is known for its famous thoroughbred horses, southern hospitality, growing community, thriving school district, numerous parks and golf courses, great weather, spacious avenues, and historical large and impressive homes.

Internship Description:

Applied Science Professional Internships in a Research Environment (ASPIRE) provide opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students to assist staff with Chemical Process Engineering, Environmental Chemistry, Material Science are available for a 10-week period during the summer of 2023.
