Social Media Specialist

ZAG Creates is seeking a Social Media Specialist who will discover, develop, and distribute content that engages fantasy and sports betting audiences across Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, and Facebook. We are looking for a candidate with an authentic passion for digital media and sports with initiative to join a creative and collaborative environment. Loving sports is great, but loving the intersection of social media, technology, sports and pop culture is even more important. This position will require live social programming and support of multiple sports with a focus on growing ZAG Creates’ Client sports betting and fantasy sports presence on social media.
Responsibilities
  • Identify and curate engaging sports betting and fantasy sports specific social content for Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, and Facebook
  • Develop and maintain content plans and activations in the social content calendar
  • Hands-on content creation, strategic thinking, and cross-functional relationship building
  • Write, edit and enhance social copy to ensure that writing style is consistent with account voice and editorial policies
  • Track engagement, follower growth, and social algorithm best practices to ensure social strategy leads to continuous growth
  • Conceptualize innovative ideas for social media posts and execute against them from start to finish, including occasional video and photo editing
  • Collaborate with internal partners to push marketing and/or production content onto social in a dynamic way
  • Establish and cultivate partnerships with fantasy and sports betting stakeholders,sports betting and fantasy sports marketing teams, and external partners
  • Work in a variety of platform-specific content management and social analytics systems
  • Analyze performance of social content and incorporate insights into future content decisions
  • Monitor messages/comments across various platforms and reply accordingly
  • Stay current with social media trends and tools – includes attending networking and educational events, reading blogs, and listening to podcasts.
  • Available to attend client events as needed for social media coverage
  • Output subject to oversight by supervisors and peers to ensure audience interest, accuracy, and adherence to established editorial procedures
  • Comment on industry specific and fan pages and be visible as a brand that is in the know and socially active
  • Sports happen on nights, weekends, and holidays and those shifts will be regular and required in this position
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in social media or a closely related field
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Digital Media, or a related field
  • Extensive knowledge of sports and internet culture
  • Experience in a sports betting and/or fantasy sports focused role preferred
  • Elite knowledge of the sports betting and the fantasy sports landscape, including current competitors, influencers, sports betting trends and rules
  • Experience and proficiency in design programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Premiere
Pro, and After Effects
  • Ability and willingness to work nights and weekends as the sports calendar dictates.

  • Sound editorial judgment, writing and editing skills
  • Ability to react quickly and positively under pressure
  • Strong communication and organization skills
  • Appreciation for and understanding of internet pop culture
  • Familiarity with sports content across multiple platforms
