Engineering Tech Internship

Description:
As the Engineering Technician Intern, you will identify and develop repair processes for a variety of electronic and mechanical Gaming products that are processed by the Refurbishment Operations Center. The role encompasses from development of concepts through the execution of solutions, which may involve not only product but also development of equipment necessary to complete projects successfully.
What will I do? 

  • Develop and create GUIs for the Refurbishment Operations Center utilizing programming skills in  .NET/C#.
  • Implement basic relational database for the software developed.
  • Investigate and create new repair methods for product failures that incorporate a complete solution in a manufacturing environment.
  • Develop prototypes that involve both electrical and mechanical elements, using soldering, Reflowing, Lathes, Milling machines and 3D printing technology. Program PLC systems that incorporate electromechanical and pneumatic systems. 
  • Use CAD & CAM tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) to create physical solutions for products and processes. 
  • Systematically prove/disprove repair process hypotheses.  Quantify information from experiments to support decisions and implement process improvements. 
  • Use diagnostics tools to analyze defects and systematic methods to repair systems such as Oscilloscopes-Microscopes-DMM and custom analyzers. 
  • Work with internal and external team members to ensure successful execution and implementation of process improvement methodologies  
  • Work within project deadlines and communicate potential roadblocks that limit successful outcomes. 
  • Present to management team project progress, share project data using tools such as PowerPoint. 
  • Communicate all issues to management that could result in process delays, safety issues, or otherwise cause a loss to the company or its associates. 
  • Consistent with the general nature of this role, work collaboratively with others throughout the Refurbishment Operations Center to achieve or exceed department objectives. 
  • Follow all known safety procedures and utilize good operational, loss prevention and safety judgment at all times. 
  • Support other departments/zones within the Refurbishment and Distribution Centers to achieve overall business objectives.

What do I need?

  • Working towards Bachelor’s Degree or Masters (B.S., MS) in Engineering from an accredited institution
  • At least 1+ years technology-based analysis, manufacturing or product development 
  • Experience in 2D and/or 3D modelling using CAD programs
  • Experience programming using .NET/C#
  • Experience designing UIs
  • Experience with software version control using Git
  • Understand C# Coding Conventions
  • Understand basic relational database frameworks and design
  • Working knowledge of  Agile software development principles
  • Working knowledge of basic electronic principles, schematics, and components
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others using spoken and written English
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, including use of Lean & Six Sigma methodologies
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Must be self-directed with exceptional time management, prioritization, and organizational skills; Strong project management skills to keep team and actions on track to completion

Desired Experience

  • At least 1+ years technology-based analysis, manufacturing or product development 
  • At least 1+ years programming using .NET/C#
  • At least 1+ years designing UIs
