SeaLand is a regional, ocean transportation company dedicated to the Intra-America market and is a division of the Maersk Group. As of January 1, 2015, SeaLand commenced operations with local, knowledgeable sales and support staff positioned to serve the unique requirements of shippers in the Intra-Americas market. The trusted, re-established SeaLand brand reflects a strong tradition of customer-centric service in this trade region. The company’s infrastructure will provide service flexibility and the ability to respond quickly to changing market conditions. Over 240 dedicated personnel make up the SeaLand organization and this role will be based in our HQ in Miramar, FL.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for a pro-active individual who has the ability to challenge the status quo at all levels of the organization. Since you will have daily interaction with many internal and external customers, it is imperative that you have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Education and Experience
Rising undergraduate junior or senior pursuing a BA / BS preferably in business administration, marketing, finance, accounting, engineering, operations management, customer service, transportation or related field

Or Masters student pursuing a degree in business administration, marketing, finance, accounting, engineering, operations management, customer service, transportation or related field
Key Responsibilities
Create/maintain/automate standardized reporting and key performance indicators for the customer service team on a weekly and monthly basis
Create and deliver presentations to key stakeholders on plans and strategies to grow the business
Develop and maintain scorecards and dashboards to track performance
Provide cross functional systems support/feedback across business units and to customers
Train and transition on shore tasks to our support team in the Global Service Center
Develop and maintain SOPs for standard processes
Analyze and build financial models to support go-to-market strategies including asset deployment, new product offerings, cost savings initiatives, leading indicators, and overall performance measures
SeaLand external website and internal sharepoint support/management
Participate in and facilitate customer calls/training to promote the use of E-Commerce

Accurately monitor operational developments measuring results against relevant standards, determining business drivers and explaining variances
*** The position is not limited to the items above and may include other responsibilities as requested by the manager. Job scope may also be adjusted during the duration of the internship based on business needs.
Technical Skills and Competencies – Required
Strong communication skills with the ability to speak and write in English
Ability to develop interpersonal relationships internally and externally – in person and over the phone
Analytic mind-set – with the ability to analyze the “big picture”, review complex problems and provide solutions
A team player with a “can do” attitude
Pro-active individual who has the ability to challenge the status quo at all levels of the organization.
Technical Skills and Competencies – Not Required, but a plus
Business Understanding – Shipping, Intra Americas trade, market competitors and industry trends
Experience participating in cross-functional teams
Ability to speak and write in Spanish
