The Aviation Maintenance Intern will gain broad exposure to the corporate aviation environment by supporting senior staff, maintenance technicians, and the inventory specialist on key maintenance tasks, projects, and initiatives. The Intern will report to the Quality Assurance Manager.

How will you make an impact in this role?
  • Assist maintenance technicians and inventory specialist in a variety of duties, to include producing maintenance due list reports from the computerized maintenance programs.
  • Assist inventory specialist in inventory management, purchasing, and vendor management for parts and services for aircraft.
  • Assist in the coordination of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, monitoring inspection intervals.
  • Interface with internal functional areas such as Flight Operations, Scheduling/Dispatch and Business Administration.
  • Assist technicians in the performance of preflight and postflight of aircraft.
  • Assist in supervising fueling operations and wing walking of aircraft during movements.
  • Assist in hangar maintenance, if needed, to include ground support equipment and shop tool inspections.
  • Comply with safety rules and procedures. Use protective equipment as required and be alert for unsafe conditions.
  • Address and report unsafe conditions before putting people or property at risk.
  • Ensure that all work accomplished meets quality standards and specifications.
  • Follow standard operating procedures when operating ground support equipment (external power carts, hydraulic power units, hydraulic lift platforms, forklifts, compressed gas cylinders, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled in a four year Bachelor degree program
  • Able to be flexible in terms of work schedule outside of normal business hours when occasionally required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, strong interpersonal, and collaborating skills.
  • Working knowledge of aviation related technology applications strongly preferred
  • Education Requirement – currently enrolled in a 2- or 4-year aviation maintenance program, or recent graduate
  • License Requirement – (licensing requirement one or both A&P certificate obtained, or written exams completed.)
