Who we are looking for: 
Global Technology interns will support various functions across the enterprise. The ideal intern candidate has an ability to the see big picture, understand how technology impacts the entire organization, and must possess a passion for consumer facing digital technology and innovation. 

  • Master’s students with a graduation date of December 2023 or Spring/Summer 2024 
  • Pursuing a master’s degree in computer science, engineering, information sciences or related field 
  • 1-3 of prior experience in a digital technology organization, marketing/consumer facing technology organization, operations and logistics team, or enterprise data and analytics team  
  • Prior experience designing and implementing web/mobile applications 
  • Knowledge of serverless architectures and services such as AWS Lambda and MS Azure functions. 
  • Proven self-starter who can work in a complex collaborative environment that rewards experiments, initiative, curiosity, and mentoring 
 
Opportunities include: 

Data Engineer: 
As a Data Engineer Intern, you will design and build reusable components, frameworks, and libraries at scale to support analytics products. You’ll identify and solve issues concerning data management to improve data quality, and clean, prepare and optimize data for ingestion and consumption. You also will build continuous integration, test-driven development, and production deployment frameworks. 

  • Deep understanding of data structures and algorithms 
  • Deep understanding of solution and technical design 
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills 
  • Ability to quickly pick up new programming languages, technologies, and frameworks 
  • Ability review design, code, and test plans to increase knowledge and application of key methodologies. 

Software Engineer: 
As a Software Engineer Intern, you will join a team of engineers, scrum masters and product owners to envision and deliver robust applications and services that bring Nike omni-channel solutions to the next level. This role will be involved in designing and building secure, highly scalable, and innovative services in a continuous delivery model on the Nike cloud platform.  

  • Ability to write robust code in Java and Node.Js 
  • Experience in microservice architecture, domain driven design, and RESTful API’s 
  • Hands-on experience working in a distributed/cloud-based environment (AWS preferred) with high transaction volumes. Knowledge of API security patterns and Cloud scaling patterns 
  • Experience with Spring framework and Spring Boot 
  • Proven foundation in data structures, algorithms, and architecture patterns 
  • Ability to define solutions, provide estimates of effort and risk, and evaluate technical feasibility 
  • Proficient with DevOps, modern build strategies, continuous integration, unit testing, and automated integration tests 
  • Experience with NoSQL data stores to ensure data storage is designed for security, reliability, availability, maintainability, and performance Working knowledge of Scrum and agile principles 
  • Proficient in pair programming and performing technical code reviews
