About AileyCamp Miami 2017
Now in its 9th year, AileyCamp Miami is a summer day camp where middle school students are “turned on” to dance and come to respect the discipline of dance as a physical activity that requires athletic ability comparable to skills demanded by any sport. Also, campers will increase their leadership skills and enjoy a variety of social activities. AileyCamp Miami is a full scholarship six-week summer camp for Miami-Dade County Public Middle School students currently enrolled in 6th, 7th, 8th grade ages 11 to 14.
Program Description
As a multimedia intern for AileyCamp Miami, you will gain firsthand experience regarding storyboarding, shooting and editing photography/video. The internship runs from June 26-August 5, 2017 and will require 28-35 hours per week Monday-Friday. All interns are required to attend a 3-day orientation prior to the start of AileyCamp Miami on June 21, 22, and 23.
Intern Responsibilities
Intern will assist Manager of Community Engagement, Camp Director, Camp Administrator, Instructors, and Group Leaders with:
Capturing both video and photographs of AileyCamp Miami classes and activities
The creation of the visual art piece for the final performance
Creating the final performance slideshow with images and video of campers
Supervising campers during classes, free periods, and fieldtrips
Rehearsal, preparation and day-of final performance activities as needed
Recording final performance
Program Requirements:
High School Senior planning to enroll in a 4-5-year college program or a college Freshman or Sophomore pursuing a degree in multi-media communications, or related field
Knowledge of digital videography and photography cameras and equipment
Easy adaptability to last-minute changes and assignments
Must be able to commit 28 hours per week or more
Attend mandatory staff orientation on June 21, 22, and 23, 2017
Participate in the background checks required for employment including but not limited to federal and sex offender checks and fingerprinting.
This is an unpaid internship, but it can be taken for school credit. Please check with your school for more details.
