Position Summary:
The Assistant Ranger assists the Senior Ranger and Ranger in the maintenance operation of GSSEM's campgrounds, which include Camp Playfair and Camp Hawthorn Hollow along with 6 other Service Centers

Position Qualifications:
  • High school graduate. College or relevant technical school experience preferred
  • Excellent relational skills for working with troop leaders and girls
  • Knowledge and ability to perform work in the areas of carpentry, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, landscaping and housekeeping
  • Training and experience in the safe operation or use of power equipment, hazardous material and other tools or equipment related to construction, maintenance and housekeeping

Essential Requirements:
  • Effective organizational skills
  • Effective communications skill and habits
  • Effective understanding of Microsoft: Word and Excel
  • Flexibility; adaptability to change
  • Strong customer service orientation and skills
  • Ability to work with a diverse population
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends
  • Must have valid drivers' license
