Marketing Coordinator

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for conducting market research to understand customer needs and trends as well as competitive intelligence. Generate documentation to be used by engineering for new product development and current product updates. Support business development team with emerging market information for focused sales efforts. Aid with brand management including coordination with advertising agency and other ITW branded product lines.

Responsibilities:
  • Create working database for current total market trends and opportunities
  • Conduct customer research to understand needs, trends, and buying habits through field observation and interviews
  • Development of competitive information to identify primary competitors. Identify their strengths, weaknesses, market share, and current strategies.
  • Create processes and conduct Market Segment Focus research to be used in development of new products and updates to current products
  • Assist with marketing resources such as pricing information, graphics, advertising, and other related marketing materials
  • Assist with product launch activities such as promotions, launch and post launch activities.
  • Participate in developing marketing plans and budgets
  • Assist in arrangements for all trade shows

Market/Customer Insight:
•     Develop processes and systems that generate continuous market intelligence data from targeted end-user market segments. Identify unmet needs in the market; develop competitive insights; develop market-based segmentation (behavioral and needs-based); build a deep understanding of how our products and brands stack up vs. competition – all through external, quantifiable market research.
•     Identify and understand operational and purchasing influences of all targeted segments, products, or services.
•     Drive the analysis, conclusions, and strategic direction of market research findings, particularly in terms of end-user segmentation, channel and promotional strategies and channel insights.
•    Make recommendations on strategic pricing (where should our target street prices be) relative to customer expectation, perceived value of our products/brands for the differentiation we provide, and relative to competitive levels.

  • Industry knowledge preferred

Education:
BS or BA degree In Sales or Marketing preferred

Experience:
Desire > 1-3 years of marketing research experience

Other Considerations:
Travel requirement: ~ 20%
