CHOP- Research Tech III - NEW Lab-Nader lab

The Nader lab has one Research technician position in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) Research Institute affiliated with University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. We are a new lab that seeks an engaged and self-motivated individual to conduct a semi-independent basic science research project investigating cells that are subjected to mechanical stress when migrating or growing in dense environments such as the tumor microenvironment, the interstitial space or a densely packed tissue. We will use cell culture models, molecular biology manipulations, microfabricated devices and a variety of microscopy techniques to understand how the cell nucleus (the stiffest cellular organelle) responds to microenvironmental mechanical stimuli and ultimately affects cell behavior and fate. Successful candidates will have a BA or BS in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry or a related field, a desire to learn cutting-edge cell biology techniques and to work as part of a new/starting team.
