Marketing/Group Sales Internship | Xtream Arnea

Overview

Xtream Arena and the GreenState Family Fieldhouse is currently seeking outgoing, motivated students enrolled in a 2- or 4- year program for the 2022-2023 academic year to learn and assist in various aspects of venue management. Each department will hire one intern for the full academic year or one intern for each semester depending on candidate pool and the finalist’s needs. Interns will get hands-on experience hosting first-class events, including but not limited to, Iowa Heartlanders ECHL Hockey, University of Iowa Volleyball, concerts, family shows and other events. Post-graduate opportunities may be available with other venues within the OVG360 family. This internship is part of the larger Oak View Group internship and will also consist of IAVM (International Association of Venue Managers) training, weekly speaker Zoom meetings and 1:1 meetings with subject matter experts. Compensation is provided.



Responsibilities

Marketing/Group Sales:
Will assist the Director of Marketing in implementation of digital strategy including creating content for social channels, website updating and email marketing. Support group sales efforts of Xtream Arena Gold Access, the corporate partnerships program and develop group sales lists for outreach. Oversee and implement grassroots marketing efforts for sporting events and concerts booked in the facility. Learn how to create, upload, and run graphics on Daktronics video and ribbon boards and other advertising systems within the venue.



Qualifications

  • At least one (1) academic year remaining at a 2- or 4- year program
  • Available to work approximately 15-20 hours/week in an office setting
  • Available to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Strong work ethic
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Other requirements listed for each department in role responsibilities
