Development Internship 2022

THE KOREA SOCIETY is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, 501(c)(3) organization with individual and corporate members that is dedicated solely to the promotion of greater awareness, understanding, and cooperation between the people of the United States and Korea.

The Korea Society seeks multiple bright, enthusiastic, and dedicated interns for its Development Department. The Development intern will provide support for all aspects of the department, assisting with tasks and projects in the following key functional areas:

Individual Giving and Membership:
  • * Update and maintain membership database records
  • * Assist with membership renewals, including printing and mailing acknowledgments
  • * Assist with creating marketing collateral and brochures
  • * Assist with creating members’ newsletters
Special Events Planning and Fundraising:
  • * Assist in the preparation and implementation of special events
  • * Research potential in-kind donations for events
  • * Assist with special event invitations and fundraising mailings
Corporate Sponsorship and Foundation Grant Proposals and Report Writing:
  • * Research new funding sources and contact information
  • * Collect press articles relating to The Korea Society and its programs
  • * Compile statistics for grant reporting
  • * Assist in the preparation of proposals and reports
Young Professional and Contemporary Culture Programming:
  • * Research current cultural trends, identifying potential program topics and speakers
  • * Write Web site postings for programs
  • * Prepare promotional materials for upcoming programs
  • * Assist in program promotional outreach efforts, using social media and email campaigns
  • * Provide staffing support at programs
Applicants for this position must be well organized, competent in using Microsoft Office applications, and capable of conducting detail-oriented Internet searches. Knowledge of Photoshop and InDesign is a plus. This is an unpaid position but is an outstanding opportunity for someone interested in learning about nonprofit development, fundraising, and programming. Class credit available. The work schedule is flexible and will be discussed during the interview.
